What decides your digestion power?

'Agni' is termed to be very vital in Ayurveda. This fire can be related to the digestive fire of person. The digestion is based on this fire. Total thirteen types of Agni have been explained in the classics.

The major three types of functional Agni are; 1. Trivagni, 2. Mandagni, & 3. Vishamagni.

Trivagni leads to quick digestive fire, helps quickly to digest the food. Quick absorption and assimilation of food. Mandagni leads to low digestive fire. And is supposed to be the root cause of various chronic diseases hence should be corrected. The last one is Vishamagni which indicates irregular digestive fire. This type of digestive fire is non constant and keeps on varying.

To maintain such types of Agni in the body, there are various herbs and medicines mentioned in Ayurveda to correct the Agni. These herbal medicines will not only correct the Agni but will help to resolve the root cause of the disease manifested into the body. So correction of Agni is termed to be the first most important thing in Ayurveda. The herbs used here are digestive ('Deepana') and carminative ('Pachana') in nature. Few of those herbs are as follow; Chitraka, Lavana, Lashuna, Adraka, Saindhava etc. These herbs helps to boost the digestive fire, ultimately giving our digestion a power to absorb the food nutrients and help in the proper healthy growth of your body.
